Tips
Tips and strategy
The essentials veteran players wish they had known on day one.
Pick one stat
Put your skill points into Physical Power (Warrior), Spell Power (Mage) or Stamina (Guardian). Splitting between physical and magic damage leaves you weak on both sides.
Farm your highest Nightmare
Legendaries don't drop on Easy. The best effort-to-loot ratio is the highest Nightmare you can clear without failing.
Repeating beats gambling
Farming a dungeon you always clear gives more loot than attempts at a harder one that end halfway.
Don't forget your daily rewards
Despite the name, the reward resets every 12 hours: stop by the lobby twice a day. It is free, unlike fake “codes”.
Make the most of carries
Getting carried by strong players is the fastest way to level up, and even better with an XP boost active.
Buy x2 Gold first
It doubles all the gold you earn afterwards. With gold, buy it before level 33: it costs 175K, and after Winter Outpost it goes up to 25M. The recommended order is x2 Gold → Extra Item → VIP.
Master Shift Lock and Q/E
With Shift Lock on, dodging attacks is much easier. Use the abilities on Q and E as soon as they come off cooldown.
Don't spend gold on the wrong stat
An upgrade on the wrong stat is gold thrown away in the early game. Always check the weapon's type in the upgrade menu.
Mind the EIR/EIF rules
They only drop in your highest unlocked Nightmare dungeon (from Volcanic Chambers upwards). Plan your leveling with that in mind.
Boss Raids with a carry
From 130 to 140 come the Boss Raids, which are hard: with a carry in Tier 30 raids you quickly reach 145 and go straight into Orbital Outpost on Nightmare. If you fail with your highest key, you lose that key.
Hardcore only when sure
It gives double loot, but you only have one life. Only go into dungeons you already clear comfortably.
Farm on weekends
Many weekends have 2x Luck and/or +1 extra item. It is the best time to farm legendaries: the Game modes page shows when an event is live.
Recommended route for beginners
- Start in Desert Temple and move up in difficulty as you gain levels. If you get stuck, claim your daily reward: it can give you better items to keep going.
- Pick the class you will focus on: Warrior (physical damage) or Mage (magic damage) are good choices to start. Put your skill points into that class's stat.
- When you get stuck and feel you need better items to move on to the next dungeon, spend gold on upgrades for your weapon and armor, on your class's stat.
- Join parties of high-level players who offer a carry: they help you get through hard dungeons and gain XP fast, even more so with an XP boost active.
- Buy x2 Gold as soon as you can, ideally before level 33, while it only costs 175K gold. It speeds up everything that comes after.
- From level 130, after Steampunk Sewers, come the Boss Raids. Get a carry in Tier 30 raids to reach 145 quickly and enter Orbital Outpost on Nightmare; without a carry, stay in Steampunk Sewers on Nightmare.
- From level 155, EIR and EIF start dropping, but only in your highest Nightmare dungeon. Keep farming that dungeon on Nightmare until you unlock the next one's Nightmare; then switch to the new one, because the previous one stops dropping them.
There are no codes in Dungeon Quest Reborn
The game has no code redemption system. The “code” lists you see online are recycled or made up, and any code shared in chat is fake. Never give out your password or visit sites promising free items or Robux. Progress comes from runs, gold and daily rewards.
Watch out for "carry" scams on Discord
Some people promise carries by DM or share links and invites to so-called Discord carry groups. They are all scams. Never click those links or join those groups, and never give out your password, cookies or verification codes. Real carries happen inside the game, in a party.
Glossary
- Pot (potential)
- The stat roll of a weapon or armor piece.
- God Pot
- The highest possible stat roll on an item.
- EIR / EIF
- Enhanced Inner Rage / Enhanced Inner Focus: the best Warrior and Mage buffs. They are rare Nightmare drops, from Volcanic Chambers to Northern Lands, and only drop in your highest unlocked Nightmare dungeon.
- Carry
- Stronger players help you clear a dungeon (or a Boss Raid) above what you could do alone, so you gain XP and loot quickly.
- Ultimate
- Rarity above Legendary. Drops on Nightmare from Enchanted Forest onwards (Eden's Vengeance and Eden's Reaper, Hofund, Laevateinn).
- Gems
- Currency for cosmetics only: visual enchantments and weapon and armor skins. They give no stats.
- Boss Key
- Key to create a Boss Raid of a given tier. Only the party leader's key is used up.
- Leech
- Standing still while someone carries you. It's not the same as a carry: in a carry you can still help.
