How friendship works
Stars
Each client has up to 5 friendship stars. According to the community, a successful commission or a well-received gift can give a full star; a failed commission or a disliked gift gives only a little.
New pieces
Raising friendship unlocks new dress pieces (bodices, collars, sleeves and skirts) for the sketchbook. The table below lists them.
Berty the pigeon
According to the achievements guide, after Dorothy's first commission you get Berty the pigeon, who brings requests outside the main story. They don't seem to expire and they give friendship, so do them early.
Gifts
After the photo you can gift the dress to a client to raise friendship. In build 443 this option was moved to unlock a bit later.
Client page
The yellow sketchbook tab shows each client's stars, her latest saved measurements and every dress you made for her. The full profile (tastes included) is revealed as friendship grows.
The ten clients
Preferences taken from the max-friendship profiles, according to a community guide (minor spoilers). Measurements in centimetres; another guide gives values up to 0.1 apart, so always check against your own measuring.

Bodices: Cinched Keyhole Blouse, Elevated Scoop Ruffle Bodice, Kimono Bodice, Milkmaid Bodice, One Shoulder Bodice, Plunging Neckline Bodice, Princess Bodice, Princess Scoop Bodice, Princess V Bodice, Scoop Ruffle Bodice, Single Keyhole Bodice, Square Bodice, Strapless Bodice, Sweetheart Bodice.
Collars: Peter Pan Collar, Pointed Collar, a bow collar (Steam's filter censored its name in the guide), plus Notched Shirt, Open Shirt and Oversized Wing Collar, which only fit some bodices.
Sleeves: Bracelet, Butterfly, Cap, Flounce, Long, Mutton, Peasent and Short Puffed Sleeve.
Skirts: Bias Cut, Circle, Flare, Gathered Ballgown, Mermaid, Pencil, Princess, Puffy Gathered Tiered, Single Tiered and Straight Long Skirt.
