Combat
A Resonator's skills
Teams of three, one on the field at a time. Names are kept as in the game.
| Skill | What it does |
|---|---|
| Basic Attack | Your normal combo. Holding it does a Heavy Attack (uses Stamina); in the air it does a Mid-air Attack; right after a perfect dodge it does a Dodge Counter. |
| Resonance Skill | Your main ability, usually on a cooldown. Builds energy for Resonance Liberation. |
| Resonance Liberation | Your strongest attack. Available when Resonance Energy, gained by dealing damage or defeating enemies, is full. |
| Forte Circuit | Each Resonator's unique mechanic, shown in a gauge above the health bar. |
| Intro / Outro Skill | With full Concerto Energy, switching Resonators triggers the leaving one's Outro Skill and the incoming one's Intro Skill. |
| Echo Skill | The skill of the Echo equipped in the first slot. |
| Inherent Skill | Passives specific to each Resonator, part of their Forte. |
Switching at the right time
You gain Concerto Energy by dealing damage and dodging. When it is full, the other Resonators' icons light up. If you switch then, the leaving Resonator uses their Outro Skill (often a buff for the next one) and the incoming one spends it all on their Intro Skill. Each Resonator has their own.
Stamina is shared by the team: switching does not restore it.
Off-Tune and Tune Break
Added in 3.0 (according to Prydwen): each attack builds Off-Tune on the enemy. When the gauge is full, it enters Mistune and you can use a Tune Break Skill, whose damage depends on Tune Break Boost and the enemy class, not on ATK. Some Resonators apply Tune Rupture or Tune Strain to get more out of it.
The six elements and their effects
Some attacks of each element apply a stackable effect (Negative Status). Enemies can inflict them on you too: dodge to avoid stacking.
| Element | Effect | What it does (in-game tutorial) |
|---|---|---|
| Aero | Aero Erosion | Deals periodic Aero DMG; damage scales with stacks. |
| Electro | Electro Flare | Lowers the target's ATK (5% up to 4 stacks, 7% at 5, which also applies Magnetized; 10% at max). |
| Fusion | Fusion Burst | At max stacks, it explodes for heavy Fusion DMG. |
| Glacio | Glacio Chafe | Each stack slows the target; at max, it freezes them. |
| Havoc | Havoc Bane | Gains stacks on its own (up to 2); at max, deals Havoc DMG and spreads to those nearby. |
| Spectro | Spectro Frazzle | Loses one stack at a time, dealing Spectro DMG each time; more stacks, much more damage. |
Besides the six elements there is Physical damage. Summarised from the in-game tutorials reproduced on the wiki.
